The tatvamazi perspective

Tradition and science, kept honest.

The Ayurvedic Herbal Oil is tatvamazi's broad botanical formulation, combining Bhringraj, Hibiscus, Aloe, Tulsi, Fenugreek, Indian Borage and other traditionally valued herbs within a nourishing coconut-oil medium. Ayurveda approaches this combination through qualities such as Vāta–Pitta balance, Keśya, Snigdha and Śiro Abhyanga, extending hair care beyond the fibre itself to the scalp, nourishment and overall condition.

Its botanical complexity brings together phytochemical families including polyphenols, flavonoids, phenolics, terpenoids, tannins, saponins and volatile constituents. Research into individual botanicals has explored antioxidant activity and pathways such as NF-κB and NLRP3 inflammatory signalling, creating a field of investigation around oxidative stress, inflammatory processes and the scalp environment.

Its traditional application through Śiro Abhyanga adds another dimension: oil, warmth, touch, fragrance and deliberate attention become part of a ritual of nourishment, grounding and stillness.
