About this oil

Śītāmṛta brings Aloe Vera into the Tatvamazi lipid system, creating a formulation centred on the relationship between botanical hydration, surface biology and lipid conditioning. Aloe has a long history of use in Indian botanical and traditional skin-care practices, particularly in contexts concerned with cooling, soothing and excessive dryness.

In Ayurvedic language, Aloe enters the qualities of Śīta, Snigdha and Pitta-sensitive care, bringing cooling, soothing and conditioning dimensions to the ritual of external application.

Aloe Vera contains a complex mixture of polysaccharides, acemannan, glucomannan-related fractions, phenolics, sterols, amino acids and other plant constituents, with its chemical composition influenced by plant material, processing and preparation.

Aloe preparations have been investigated in relation to skin hydration, barrier function, NF-κB, MAPK, PI3K/AKT and TGF-β signalling, as well as fibroblast activity, extracellular-matrix biology and tissue-remodelling processes. Some human studies have investigated topical Aloe preparations for hydration and skin-related outcomes.

However, these findings depend strongly upon the type of Aloe preparation, concentration and delivery system. Evidence from Aloe gel or standardised extracts cannot automatically be transferred to an Aloe-infused oil.

Tatvamazi therefore approaches Aloe through the interaction of polysaccharides, surface hydration, lipid conditioning and the biological environment of the scalp, rather than reducing the ingredient to an unsupported claim of “repair.”
